| Christopher Hadfield is the partner in charge of the private client department dealing with all aspects of Inheritance tax planning, Wills, Trusts and Probate. He has worked in Walton-on-Thames since 1977 and has specialised in such work from the start.
The department also deals with the problems associated with older people including powers of attorney and Public Guardianship Office work and manages the affairs of older clients who can no longer cope on their own.
Inheritance tax is likely to be a problem for the majority of people living in this area as a result of house prices but with the right advice and careful planning it can be substantially reduced and in many cases legally avoided altogether.

Whilst many Solicitors carry out probate and estate administration as a sideline to their other business we treat it as a core area and as a result will be dealt with quickly and efficiently.
There are important tax saving strategies which can be employed in estate administration for Capital Gains Tax and retrospective Inheritance Tax planning which could far outweigh any cost savings made by families trying to carry out the administration themselves.
Outside the office Chris has been a keen sportsman all his life but with the passing of years apart from skiing (where he has failed to accept he is no longer 18) limits himself to the less energetic pastimes of golf and walking
Chris is married with two children and lives locally.
